An exciting senior level Cloud Financial Operations SME Tech / Engineer exists for one of our most popular clients, you will provide technical expertise and work closely with value streams, platforms and businesses to analysis, prioritise and implement optimisation recommendations.
Additional contract information:
- Duration of contract: 6 Months rolling
- Location: Remote/ London
- Pay: Open for discussion
- Inside IR35
Key responsibilities:
- Provide SME knowledge on optimisation tactics and policies including tagging policy execution and auto-shutdown scripts
- Support value streams, platforms and businesses to perform technical impact assessment of optimisation recommendations and provide feedback to inform decision makers
- Support development teams and platform engineers to implement optimisations recommendations on their cloud resources (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud)
- Support development teams and platform engineers to implement automation for Cloud Financial Operations processes including optimisation execution and tagging remediation
- Support value streams, platforms and businesses to design and implement products and services in the most cost-efficient way
- Provide technical inputs on cloud optimisation planning and execution as part of working groups and governance forums
- Attend design forums as technical representative of the FinOps team and manage work items through governance and approval processes
- Develop support tools and teaching aids to help value streams, platforms and businesses perform their optimisation activities
Key skills:
- Excellent understanding and practical experience of the major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alicloud), including cloud architecture, networking, cloud infrastructure and cloud security concepts and best practices
- Excellent understanding and practical experience of the major cloud provider's consumption and pricing options, cost principles and cost drivers
- Excellent understanding of how cloud components work together to create highly available, resilient, secure and cost effect solutions
- Excellent understanding of using IaC tools to automate infrastructure deployments and configurations Knowledge of Cloud Financial Operations concepts and best practices (preferably Certified FinOps Practitioner)
- Excellent understanding of network infrastructure, design forums and approval processes
