During the week you will know me as Dino, CloudStreams Resource Director, but on the International 9-ball pool circuit you will know me as “Dynamite”. I’ve competed in the world championships, represented South Africa on a number of occasions and am a WPA (World Pool Association) committee member.
Fortunately, my work has meant I have lived in both Europe and South Africa, which has meant I have sampled some of the greatest pool halls the world has to offer. Without doubt the highlight being representing South Africa at the world championships in China.
These days, I don’t get as much time to practice hour upon hour, between my family and my work commitments pool now takes a back seat.
Running CloudStream’s Resource Centre in Cape Town is a definitely not a nine to five role. We have technology projects coming in from all our global offices, across many time zones, most recently completing a project that needed combined resource in US, Japan, India, Singapore and London to find critical transformation skills.
Having lived in London for a number of years, focusing exclusively on technology recruitment into the financial markets I am no stranger to the demands and stress of working to tight deadlines and high technical standards. The skills and knowledge gained over my six years in the UK has stood me well for building our Resource Centre.
Personally, I really enjoy networking and interacting with technology specialists. Technology itself is constantly changing, so having the opportunity to work in an industry that keeps me at the forefront of the evolution is indescribable. However, guiding and advising job seekers through their careers is still the most rewarding aspect of my job.
